INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS

The main objective of the project is the identification of framework conditions regarding Green Logistics (in particular meaning of terms, scope of activities & required training) in partner countries & to combine existing best practices to develop standard practices to be used for a methodology for training and certification for youth. The results of training give the Green Logistics Manager an overview of his role in the logistics industry, be able to identify Green issues to be tackled & be aware when/where to update the own knowledge base.

The nature of the results is strongly related with education and training of youth in respect to the Europe 2020 objectives. Equipping logistics managers with knowledge, skills and competence for the European economy and society needs is of crucial importance in order to retain competitiveness and inventiveness.

Green skills and competencies are becoming an essential part of all jobs. This need motivated the creation of a blended learning training in the field of green logistics and having economic value and social impact.

The rationality for use of these results is due to the already defined needs for structured in the form of learning outcomes training for youth in the field of logistics. This type of structuring the qualifications has strong regional as well European value. The project foresees their upgrading and uploading to a broad interactive multi-language e-portal for the target group. It offers structured as learning outcomes knowledge, skills and wider competencies. This model describes innovative green qualifications of green logistic managers. They are based on EQF and ECVET descriptors and include also national peculiarities.

The added value of LOG-IN-GREEN project is based on the Commission statement that ‘green skills’ need to be improved across the “entire workforce” and “understanding the environmental impact of an occupation needs to be main streamed into education and training system”. Thus, the project policy to integrate sustainable development of green logistic issues into existing qualifications is much more effective than creating new training standards.

It is aimed to implement a strategic transfer of training system based on learning outcomes and this model ensures logistic sustainability awareness at broad sectoral level. Besides the structural novelty, the learning outcomes are enriched in respect to the content in specific field as well as a virtual scheme for EU mobility developed. The valorization during whole project life and the planned ex-post project life ensure opportunity for development of the exploitation of Project results.
